Encaustic Art
Using pure bees wax and a resin to strengthen it, many layers of melted wax are brushed onto a surface providing depth, texture and translucent vibrance.
I created a new floral body of encaustic work using a combination of painting with bees wax, artwork and photo transfer. Most of the flowers in this series were photographed in the beautiful gardens of the Horticultural Centre of the Pacific. These original paintings are 8x8 inches. I also use the same technique on my handmade ceramic tiles to create a joyful wall hanging to brighten up a space.
